Preparing the Server for Configuration Manager Installation

1. From the Start menu launch the Server Manager console. In the left pane select Roles and in the right pane click Add Roles.

2. In the Before You Begin window click Next.

3. In the Select Server Roles window check Web Server (IIS)

4. In the Add features required for Web Server (IIS)? window click Add Required Features.

5. In the Select Server Roles window click Next.

6. In the Web Server (IIS) window click Next.

7. In the Select Role Services window check ASP.NET.

8. In the Add role services and features required for ASP.NET? window click Add Required Role Services.

9. In the Select Role Services window check ASP.

10. In the Select Role Services window check Windows Authentication.

11. In the Select Role Services window check Static Content Compression.

12. In the Select Role Services window check IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility and IIS 6 WMI Compatibility then click Next..

13. In the Confirm Installation Selections window click Install.

14. In the Installation Results window click Close.

15. In the Server Manager console in the left pane select Features and in the right pane click Add Features.

16. In the Select Features window check BITS Server Extensions.

17. In the Add role services required for BITS Server Extensions? window click Add required Role Services.

18. In the Select Features window check Remote Differential Compression then click Next.

19. In the Web Server (IIS) window click Next.

20. In the Select Role Services window click Next.

21. In the Confirm Installation Selections window click Install.

22. In the Installation Results window click Close.
